Ray White Commercial Back in WA
16/03/2010
Ray White Commercial is back in business in Perth after last year closing its sole Western Australian franchise.
Ray White Commercial CEO Mark Williams said a leading First National agency had decided to join forces with the company, which has been seeking new franchises in WA after ending of a 15 year relationship with its former Perth office.
“Commercial FN, one of the strongest agencies in Perth, has become part of the Ray White family and they will be encouraging other individuals and agencies to establish Ray White Commercial franchises,” Mr Williams said.
Ray White Commercial Perth General Manager Maurice Oteri said as Commercial FN the agency had twice won the Real Estate Institute of Western Australia commercial agency of the year award.
"Coming across to Ray White Commercial is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the biggest company in the country," he said.
"My Principal Chad Parham is also the third generation of his family to be in the property industry and so the family aspect of Ray White is particularly appealing and gives us some synergy with the Ray White Group."
Mr Oteri said the new Ray White Commercial Perth office has 11 staff, and is currently operating from premises at Victoria Park.
Hei said the WA commercial property market was buoyant with enquiries on the increase.
"We had more transactions in the last six months than over the previous two years," he said.
Ray White Commercial specialises in the leasing, sale and management of commercial property assets and currently manages more than $2 billion worth of commercial properties.

Welcome to Our Place....Bundamba
14/12/2009

The new Ray White Bundamba office launched in December is owned and operated by long-time local, Luke Buckel, a licensed real estate agent, sole principal and Bundamba lifestyle advocate.
Mr Buckel’s family ties to the area date back to the early 80’s, having attended both the local primary and high schools. His involvement in the Bundamba community has provided him with a unique appreciation of just how special the location is and all it has to offer.
While his professional career has spanned the telecommunications and the hospitality industries, it’s in the real estate domain where Mr Buckel is now making his presence felt.
The goal of owning his own agency has followed several very successful years with the Ray White Group where he earned awards and membership to the prestigious Alan White Premier Club. For the uninitiated, this means, he’s a high performer with an obvious passion and flair for the industry.
“Bundamba has so much going for it but it has been flying a little under the radar,” in the sense that unless work brought you here or you knew people living here already, you may not have discovered it, Mr Buckel says.
Identifying an opportunity on his home side of town, Ray White Bundamba will be distinguished by the office’s primary concentration on its local suburb - Bundamba and its immediate surroundings including: Ebbw Vale, Silkstone, North Booval, Blackstone and Dinmore.
“We’re genuinely interested in our home ground and we want to be involved in the local community,” says Mr Buckel.
“Rather than trying to broad brush a vast number of suburbs or be Ben-Hur like in stature, Ray White Bundamba is a satellite down to earth community office, staffed by people who are extremely knowledgeable about the Bundamba area, the eastern sector of Ipswich.”
The idea is that clients will know everyone in our organisation, from the receptionist through to the sales team and the principal.
In terms of the virtues of parking your money in the Bundamba property market, Mr Buckel contests that “Bundamba has the best of both worlds for both the investor and owner-occupied.”
“With Bundamba’s median price at $284,000, it’s cheaper than central Ipswich property prices but with the benefit of being closer to Brisbane CBD.”
Area popularity is evident, with low vacancy rates and strong demand for rentals. “It all boils down to services – everything is here, it’s affordable plus the investment yields are above average.”
A drawcard for prospective tenants is Bundamba’s closeness to reliable public transport, “people are after an ability to access rail.”
For those preferring their own wheels – there’s just one set of lights and you’re on the motorway – that’s a potential saving of around 20 minutes, the time it can take to cross from the western side of Ipswich to Bundamba, he says.
“Once the Ipswich motorway is complete in 2012, Bundamba will become the artery into Ipswich and make the access to Brisbane from Bundamba far quicker.”
“Bundamba is going ahead in leaps and bounds, it’s been positive growth even through the global financial crisis – which shows that prices weren’t over inflated to begin with.”
People also appear to be tuning into lifestyle factors of importance for example: close proximity to Booval Fair shopping centre, having the full spectrum of education from primary, secondary through to Tafe along with upgraded local infrastructure all lending credence to the Bundamba property proposition.
Affordability is another virtue with the ability to add your own touch and get a return on investment - $240,000 fetches a three bedroom property generally in need of a renovate and paint, while a four bedroom is priced in the early to mid 300’s.
“If you pick something up for $260,000 and tip in $30-35,000 of improvements, prices a couple of years on have reached $340,000 – a sign that the market is moving forward, it’s not going backwards.”
Ray White Bundamba provides services in residential, land and development sales and property management.

Welcome to Our Place....Ray White Minyama
16/11/2009
Quirky signage at 9 Nicklin Way Minyama during the last few weeks www.twomates.com.au has been a clever PR tactic to pre-empt the launch of a new real estate agency in that location - a business that’s clearly set to innovate.
Indeed, two mates - Sam Archer and Ben Wilson with accomplishments in corporate finance and development sectors, have united to form a unique brand of real estate based in Minyama under the Ray White umbrella - Ray White Lifestyle. It will be the first initiative of its type for the 1000-strong office network of the Australasian Real Estate Group.
Mr Archer and Mr Wilson go back a long way. They went to school together in Cairns and Brisbane and regularly holidayed on the Sunshine Coast. Their friendship has flowed into collaborations on numerous projects, buying, renovating and selling houses on the Sunshine Coast.
“We’ve long held a vested interest in the area and hoped that one day we’d end up here, and here we are,” says Mr Wilson whose role in property marketing with Lensworth, brought him to the coast in 2000 to work on Kawana Waters, one of Australia’s biggest land development projects.
Other sales and marketing projects have spanned large and small-scale commercial and residential property development for prominent companies including Stocklands and FPD Savills.
Mr Archer who has been an independent contractor with Ray White Caloundra for the past 18 months, adds a strong knowledge of commercial and residential lending as a former owner of three Bank of Queensland franchises.
And just as the co-principals have developed their own quintessential Sunshine Coast work and lifestyle balance, their aim through Ray White Lifestyle is to assist others to realise individual lifestyle aspirations.
The underlying premise is that irrespective of whether you are a first homebuyer, second homebuyer, retiree or an investor, “everyone wants a particular lifestyle, but lifestyle is very individual and means different things to different people. What we are trying to do is to offer a service that can help you achieve the lifestyle you desire,” explains Mr Wilson.
“While we’re not here to give you a particular lifestyle we will be able to cater to your desired lifestyle” through the business’s access to a diverse mix of properties in many different locations, clarifies Mr Archer.
The sales team has been strategically brought together to comprise a mix of localised Sunshine Coast suburb specialists, so Ray White Lifestyle not only offers a specialisation in top-end Minyama product in their immediate backyard, they also specialise in Kawana Waters, Kawana Island and all the way to Wurtulla.
Although the waterside east of Nicklin way is a magnet for property seekers, Mr Wilson says, the attractive thing about Ray White Lifestyle’s marketplace – is that aspirations for water or to live close by can be met, without necessarily needing to live in a million dollar house at Point Cartwright Drive.
“There’s ocean or water access lifestyle, hinterland where you can enjoy that rural component and yet still be only 30 minutes away from the ocean, Kawana Waters which can also provide employment opportunities as part of that lifestyle, plus shopping, restaurants, beaches, rivers – all of those elements put together.”
“That’s the sort of opportunity we can offer people to enjoy the Sunshine Coast and what it’s all about.”
Ray White Lifestyle will offer the breadth of services required in real estate dealings including: residential sales, commercial sales, property management along with an exceptional capabilities in finance via the Loan Market with two brokers servicing business and consumer finance.
“We are here to offer not just a real estate avenue to buy and sell property we are bigger than that, we are a team and a business that genuinely are here to do things differently. It is an office that you can come to do discuss wealth creation, to discuss current portfolios, processes and strategies to achieve people’s lifestyle needs, explains Mr Archer.
“We are more than just finance brokers, we are personal bankers, that’s our history, personal banking service to our landlords from an investment point of view, to our buyers from a purchase point of view and to our vendors from an ongoing financing arrangement going forward.”
With the business primed for growth across the board, career inquiries are welcome.
Either way, “If you are looking for a lifestyle…it’s at 9 Nicklin Way Minyama.”

Stunt Couple Turn to Mortgage Broking
13/11/2009
Bren and Kylie Rodda have swapped a life of travelling the world working on stunt shows to establish a mortgage broking business in Darwin.
The former Gold Coast couple who met while performing in ski and dolphin shows at Sea World are now achieving great success with leading mortgage broker Loan Market.
Mr Rodda said the couple decided to move to Darwin and become mortgage brokers while they were working at a stunt show at a theme park in China.
“We had been looking into mortgage broking for a few years but were unsure about starting on the Gold Coast so the idea was put on the back burner,” he said.
“While we were living in China we had a call from our friend Brett Pilgrim who was then State Manager of Loan Market in South Australia and the Northern Territory and he told us there was an opportunity for brokers in Darwin.
“We had been in Darwin previously for a ski show and just loved the place so when we were offered the opportunity to start our own business we jumped at it.”
Kylie Rodda, who spent a decade at Sea World and hosted dolphin, seal and water ski shows, said the move to Darwin and mortgage broking had been “fantastic”.
“We prepared and studied to be brokers while we were in China and we also spent time in Adelaide getting first-hand experience with other brokers,” she said.
“We moved to Darwin and opened our business in conjunction with Ray White Central, which has been fabulous.
“Our careers in broking have been quite successful so far. Bren has been in Loan Market’s top five nationwide for unconditional loans for the month while I’ve had the most loans submitted for one quarter in the Northern Territory.
“The weather and the people in Darwin are terrific and they are very open to getting assistance with their home finance as they don’t have the access to lenders that people down south do.”
Bren Rodda’s career as a professional water skier and jet skier took him around the globe, including a stint at Universal Studios working on Kevin Costner’s ‘Water World’ stunt show.
“But we both knew we couldn’t work as professional stunt show performers forever and we had to make the jump to a real job sooner rather than later,” he said.
“Mortgage broking gives you great job satisfaction by having daily contact with people and helping them to make one of the big decisions in life, purchasing that dream home or an investment property.
“For both Kylie and myself, the career change and move to Darwin has been a great ride and we still get to water-ski all year round.”
Parramatta Pair Join Ray White Commercial
11/11/2009
Two of western Sydney’s leading commercial property specialists have joined forces with Ray White Commercial to capitalise on upward market growth in the region.
Peter Karam and Sam Agostino have left Khoury and Partners to become co-leaders of the Ray White Commercial Parramatta franchise.
Mr Karam said the move to Ray White would help their business achieve its growth ambitions with the market improving.
“We saw Ray White as a progressive business which has always been a strong performer,” he said.
“We hope it’s a marriage made in heaven.”
Mr Karam and Mr Agostino’s franchise is based at 85 George St in Parramatta, which is the sixth largest CBD in Australia.
He said the main thing holding back further growth in Parramatta was the lack of new office space.
“Under-supply is definitely a problem as we have inquiries for offices in Parramatta of upwards of 3,000m2 and retailers for around 2,500m2 looking to start in Parramatta,” he said.
Ray White Commercial CEO Mark Williams said he was delighted to have such experienced operators as Mr Karam and Mr Agostino join Ray White.
“They have been involved in all facets of the real estate industry for many years and they have an intrinsic knowledge of the region and have built up extensive relationships with key people,” he said.
Ray White Highfields Welcomes Ken Avery
03/11/2009
Residing in Highfields for 21 years and working as a commercial real estate sales person under the Ray White Commercial Toowoomba banner for the last four years, Ken Avery has decided to join the Ray White team based in his home town of Highfields.
Ken is a proven performer. Each year since his commencement as a commercial sales agent in 2005, Ken has been awarded for his outstanding results - consistently performing in the top 10 for number of transactions internationally at the annual Ray White Commercial International Awards. In 2007, Ken was responsible for the settlement of in excess of $20 million dollars worth of settled sales, an outstanding result. Ken is a current member of the Alan White Premier Members Club in recognition of his continuing efforts.
This experience, together with his own previous residential real estate experience within Highfields, has provided Ken with a broad knowledge of the overall real estate industry, a benefit that he is happy to share and to assist his present and future clients. These skills together with long term local knowledge and the support of one of the best practice real estate groups in the country, Ray White, Ken Avery and Ray White Highfields are well placed to assist their valued clients and customers.
In Ken’s opinion, he believes Highfields is the place to be, with future growth predicted for this area under the recently announced South-East Queensland Regional Plan as having a positive impact upon property values in the area.
In Ken’s own words he comments that: “Highfields has grown faster than anyone had ever thought possible. This has proven to be very kind to me and other alike over the years as a property owners and speculators in our township. I am of the opinion that property capital returns within Highfields during the last 21 years has proven to be far better than that of Bank interest or share portfolios. Add this together with the relaxed local lifestyle and the fact that the coast with its beaches are only approximately two hours' drive keeps life exciting and allows sports such as surfing to still be pursued on a regular basis; you would need to ask yourself as to why you would live anywhere else!”.
Welcome to Our Place...Ray White Reynella
29/10/2009
Ray White would like to welcome the new Reynella office to the Group. Principal Stephen Edgar recently opened the new office in what is considered to be one of the most historic suburbs in Adelaide’s south.
Just 20 kilometres from the CBD, the new office is situated at the gateway to the Southern Vales wine district and Fleurieu Peninsula. The area has a well established community offering a peaceful alternative to the growing hustle and bustle of suburbs closer to the city.
Stephen couldn’t be happier with the decision to open the new office. “It is with considerable pride and excitement to have the opportunity to represent the Ray White name in this area. Being the only ‘shop front’ directly in the area, it has not taken long for the locals to notice us...we listed four properties in the first week!” said Stephen of the first few weeks in the new office.
As usual, the strength of the Ray White brand, coupled with the quality, integrity and honesty of service Ray White Reynella will be offering to all in the community will ensure their immediate success and impact in Reynella.
Ray White wishes Stephen and his team at Ray White Reynella all the very best for the future.
Ray White Lara expands in to Corio
28/10/2009
A key new Ray White office in Corio officially opened on Wednesday October 14th in retail premises next to Video Easy in the high profile Corio Village Shopping Centre.
Under the ownership and management of Principal Jo Boothroyd, the new office represents an expansion of her existing office in Lara. Opened just eighteen months ago, the Lara office has grown rapidly to become the dominant real estate business in the area, with a total of twelve staff. Jo says the new office will give her business effective coverage of the northern suburbs of Geelong.
“We have been servicing the Corio area from Lara for some time. But I believe that the locals of Corio deserve to have a dedicated agency in their suburb and the opportunity for choice when it comes to finding the best local agent to help them” Jo said.
“This new office has been planned for some time. The team for Corio were recruited three months ago and have been working from the Lara office while we finalised the new office fit-out.”
With fifteen years experience in real estate, Jo is a well known and respected figure in the local area. The decision to open her own agency in Lara early last year was the natural next step in her real estate career and she says choosing to join the internationally successful brand of Ray White was intuitive.
“I’m like a kid in a lolly shop. With Ray White I have so many tools I never had before – the training and support and the sheer depth of information enables us to provide a fantastic service to our clients.”
“Whether we’re dealing with landlords and tenants in effective property management, or purchasers and vendors in negotiating property sales, the strength of the Ray White brand and services has been the clear difference in helping our business become the market leader in such a short space of time” Jo says.
“Our customers have access to an international network of almost 1000 real estate offices across Australasia, combined with an unbeatable knowledge of the local market. With Corio being a high investment area, the Ray White brand exposes our vendor’s properties to a much wider audience.”
General Manager of Ray White Victoria, Marcus Williams, said he is pleased to be furthering the group’s partnership with Jo in her new business at Corio.
“Jo is the consummate professional and runs a solid business – we are proud to have her in the Ray White network” Marcus said.
Ray White and Loan Market Join Forces on Auckland's North Shore
22/10/2009
Ray White has joined forces with leading mortgage broker Loan Market to open their first dual branded real estate and home finance office in New Zealand.
Ray White New Zealand CEO Carey Smith said the new office will be located at Northcote on the North Shore of Auckland and was an important addition to the Company.
“We expect to establish more combinations with Ray White and Loan Market as part of our long term plan to offer customers the full range of real estate and home loan finance services,” Mr Smith said. The Ray White Group already has a strong presence on the North Shore with 13 offices. “The new business on Lake Road will house 12 salespeople,” Mr Smith said. “It will service a growing marketplace in a diverse community which has a mixture of property from the high-end location of Northcote Point through to a range of residential and commercial properties in Northcote.”
The owner of the new office, Tony Scheirlinck, has had a long term career in real estate and with Ray White on the North Shore, working as a salesperson at Birkenhead before a management role at Torbay. Mr Scheirlinck said a dual branded office with Loan Market would offer clients a total transaction service. “The property and finance industries are a natural fit and having Loan Market within the Ray White office is an additional benefit to our staff,” he said.
The Loan Market business will be run by high profile North Shore brokers Scott Charlesworth and Stuart Matheson. Loan Market has 48 brokers throughout New Zealand and this is its eighth retail outlet.
With the opening of the Northcote office, the Ray White Group will have 135 salespeople servicing the North Shore market.
The Ray White Group has 131 offices throughout New Zealand, trading just in excess of $5 billion in turnover per annum.
